Biometric Data Collection
Biometrics will be collected using a quick, discreet and non-intrusive process using a digital scanner.
Data encoding and biometrics.
The process of encoding the name, birth date and other details of the applicant. Applicants must ensure that all information provided are correct. Please pay special attention to the correctness of the spelling of names and other information.
PaRC processors will capture your biometrics, namely photo and fingerprints, and digital signature at the Centre.
Applicant’s fingerprints and photo details: Eyeglasses, coloured contact lenses, jewellery (earring, necklace), heavy make-up should be removed before capturing the photo. It is also advisable for applicants having sore eyes, eye sty or any redness in the eyes to come for e-passport renewal when their eye condition has improved.
Certain categories of applicants are exempted from the requirement to give fingerprints, including:
- Children under the age of 8 years
- Persons for whom fingerprinting is physically impossible
